and we REALLY need your help!

Our mission from the beginning has been simple. To do our work diligently and honestly, and become the lab that I, a life long film photographer, always wished I had access to. With quality order execution at the forefront of our ethos here at Darkslide, we’ve come a long way in the last 3 years.

Our goal is to continue to grow, to continue doing lab work at our already high standards, and most importantly, be able to do it FASTER!

To scan, crop, convert, fix the colors, and do dust removal with our current scanning set up requires anywhere from 25-45 minutes per roll of film.

With this fundraiser, we will FINALLY be able to upgrade our scanning set up. The scanners we are considering will be able to scan, crop, convert, AND do dust removal in only 3-8 minutes per roll.

This upgrade will allow us to do an entire months worth of scanning in ONE SINGLE DAY!!!!

This project is brought to you by the three major lessons I’ve learned since opening Darkslide Film Lab

With these lessons in mind, I’ve created a one of a kind series of darkroom prints to sell to fundraise for the lab.

I put my heart and soul into each and every print.

The darkroom and my deep affinity towards it is what got me into this mess in the first place, now its time for the darkroom to bail me out.

WHAT YOUR INVESTMENT WILL ALLOW US TO DO….

GET A PROPER FILM SCANNER

Firs things first, we need a scanner up in here. I have been salivating at the mouth of the idea of our scanning efficiency increasing by 90% with this much needed upgrade. This will open SOOOO many doors for us to not only expand, but better serve our customers.

SHORTEN OUR SCANNING TURN AROUND TIME SIGNIFICANTLY

Our goal post investment will be to maintain a 2-3 week turn around instead of our current 4-6 week turn around time.

SHORTEN OUR SHIPPING TURN AROUND TIME

It usually takes us 1-2 weeks to ship orders out after completion. We really focus our time and efforts on getting scans out as fast as humanly possible, so shipping tends to be where we really fall short.

CREATE BETTER CONTENT

Finally, the time will be available for me to really focus on improving our social media content. This means more free resources for our followers and customers!

GROW OUR EDUCATION DEPARTMENT

One of my favorite parts of owning a lab is being a resource for you to grow and learn more about film photography. This info is not easily accessible, we want to change that!

RAISE WAGES

My one employee (Eve- who I love dearly) is the only one on our payroll. She works incredibly hard and I would like to give her a raise. Paying myself would be cool, too ツ With this upgrade I might even be able to take a day off!!

BRIDGEPORT CONNECTICUTS FIRST EVER COMMUNITY DARKROOM!!!!!!

It has been a FANTASY of mine since opening to expand the lab to the point of being able to open a community darkroom. We want to create a third space for film photographers to grow together, learn together, and create together!

There is magic in the darkroom print process, and making it accessible to my community is so important to me. The community darkroom will also serve as an educational space offering workshops and classes both in group or private settings. We also plan to use the space to help grow our online education department, so there is benefit for our global customers as well!!
